First Fashion: Our Favorites From What’s New

It’s that time of year again when I know my cold weather clothes are getting super jealous of all my sundresses and strappy sandals. One way to ease relations in my closet and dress September-appropriate? Start moving these fall accessories into heavy wardrobe rotation.
Pncey2004710192_94x185 If you’re like me and cringe at the thought of legwarmers à la an Olivia Newton-John music video, it’s time to rethink! Arm warmers have an urban twist that brings a little edginess - and much needed warmth - to short sleeves. Pencey - Long Fingerless Gloves
Toryb2013512867_94x185 The best thing about fall? Boots, boots, and more boots! I love the iconic Tory Burch details. Here, her trademark medallion does its duty as a zipper pull, while a gold metal band pumps up the drama at the heel. Tory Burch - Arabelle Platform Zip Back Boot
Marcj2083122699_94x185 Leave it to Marc to make the umbrella as hip a fashion accessory as the handbag. This one has additional practicality: The bold neon lettering up top will help me be seen in my scene even after dark. Marc by Marc Jacobs - Scribble Houndstooth Umbrella
Fall accessories that will keep you cozy, high, and dry? Check out What’s New.

First Fashion: Our Favorites From What's New

We're all starting to stock up on the season's comfy cardigans and chic sweater dresses, but I've been looking to take these beautiful knits a bit further. A few of my must-have knit accessories for fall:
Juicy2097610469_94x185 These sweet, feminine slippers will be sure to keep my feet warm when the mercury drops. Juicy Couture-Cheekie Knit Slipper.
Mslmp2001212894_94x185 That original piece I’d totally make if I knew how to knit? I’ve found it. And the bamboo handles take this handbag into truly one-of-a-kind territory. Mischa Lampert-Bamboo Knit Bag.
Mslmp2001410276_94x185 What could be cozier than a hand-knit wool hat? Pair this with a sweater dress for some snowy-street chic. Mischa Lampert-Nolita Hat with Fur.
Those knits your grandmother would make for you if she had the flair of a designer? Find them here, in What’s New.

First Fashion: Our Favorites From What's New

Like just about every other fashion-obsessed female I know, I’ve got it bad for Black Halo. The ideal antidote to babydoll/billowy/bohemian fatigue, the structured, body-conscious styles in this well-edited collection place the focus squarely on the waist, creating an hourglass silhouette worthy of a ‘50s screen siren. What’s more, exquisite tailoring makes these pieces feel like couture, but their affordable price point won’t cause heart palpitations.
Blackhalo1_4 I’ve got a major weakness for corsetry styling (and lingerie references in general) and this is a shining example of its kind. Black Halo Colorblock Trapunto Sheath Dress
Blackhalo2_4 Major va-va-voom factor here, folks. So Sophia Loren circa 1959 with a structured clutch and an elegantly sexy stiletto. Black Halo Pleated Bust Cami Dress
Blackhalo3_5 Perfect with the season’s essential skinny black stretch pants and some bondage-y booties. (I’ll bring along my fashion security blanket, the shrunken blazer, in case I get chilly.) Black Halo Braided Back Top
Styles that make you feel like you just stepped off the set of a Fellini film? Find ‘em right here, in What’s New.

Designer Profile - Chris Benz

Chris Benz found inspiration for his fall line in Paris where he fell in love with the pulled-together, always personal style of French women. Benz designed with this quirky-chic sophisticate in mind, bringing us an eclectic collection of vintage-cool zig-zag knits, bold, batik-inspired prints, and acid-bright coats balanced by classically elegant pencil skirts, smart trousers, and clean-lined blouses. A mature, nuanced collection, Benz's fall line proves he's worthy of all the attention he's garnered since his catapult to fashion fame just a few seasons back. But don't take our word for it: see the Chris Benz fall collection for yourself, right here, at the Designer Boutique.

High Volume

Two years ago, the new kid on the pants block was the skinny, and a few years before that, it was the low-rise boot-cut. But this year is turning up the volume in a big way. The wide leg that made its way into the denim world last season is getting super-sized this fall in pleated trousers by Alice + Olivia, plaid pants by Karen Zambos, and the ultimate in incredible volume by VPL. It's the trend that will define your look this season, so get in on it today, at shopbop.

Mike & Chris Redefines Casual Chic this Fall

If husband and wife design team Mike Gonzalez and Christine Park-Gonzalez created Mike & Chris intending to reinvent the hoodie, they approached their fall 2008 collection with the notion to redefine casual chic. The leather concoctions the duo have become known for are still there (and even more incredible), and they've added cozy, unique tops and dresses to the mix. Our favorite new addition, however, comes in the form of urban-cool footwear, like the ankle-wrap ballet and hidden-platform bootie both with coolly unexpected buttons. Where to get the full effect of Mike & Chris's expanding repertoire? Right here, at shopbop.
