first fashion:

Our Favorites from What's New
In addition to the requisite weddings, there are a few other events on my summer agenda that will require some stylish evening attire: a cocktail bridal shower (so much better than the luncheon variety), a retirement banquet for a family friend, and a handful of birthday dinners. I'm looking for a dress or two that can work for these events, as well as transition into my fall wardrobe.
Covering every birthday dinner from now until next spring, this pretty little frock features clever front ruching to camouflage gluttonous indulgence and intriguing sleeves that minimize the need to accessorize. Just add a pair of sexy shoes and a leather clutch, and I’ll be ready to go. Free People Wrap Me Up Dress
One of those dresses that’s just plain pretty, I’ll complement the classic feel with simple silver jewelry and peep-toe pumps. And come fall, the predominantly white backdrop will contrast nicely with a pair of black tights. Diane von Furstenberg Mazerine Dress
Edgy without feeling overdone, this dress manages the tricky balance of timeless and fashion-forward. It’s as chic with minimalist accessories as it is with something a little more involved. Rag & Bone Dominique Dress
Find something for all your summer invites (and a few of your fall ones, too), in What’s New.
