Let me start by saying this: I love my job. I get to spend my days looking at clothes and keeping up with the latest trends and designers. But, when I read an article about a new position opening up in Australia, I admittedly thought for a minute or two about making a career change. The job? Caretaker of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. It’s a mouthful, sure, but the gig sounds like it’s all sorts of awesome. The responsibilities: explore the islands, report back on what tourist attractions they have to offer, feed some fish, and collect the mail, all the while basking in the warm temperatures, clear blue skies, and sandy beaches of the Aussie isles.
So the biggest question, naturally, is what I would wear if I ever found myself living the island life. A cache of brilliant swimwear is an obvious must (I’d start with the brightly colored Zimmermann bikini pictured), and a closetful of floral maxis (like the Milly dress above) would ensure I was always breezy-chic. Add an assortment of sandals to the mix and a pair or two (or ten) of fantastic sunglasses, and I’d be looking great while living the good life, island style.
