Are the ’90s really back? How can I try this trend without going full-on 1992-era Seattle?
After a bright-but-fast love affair with the ’80s, the fashion world has moved on to more muted ’90s grunge. This time around, the silhouettes are slimmer and more feminine, but still manage to evoke the I-don’t-care sex appeal that sprouted a generation of iconic supermodels. Floral and flannel remain the lynchpins, but are reimagined in modern prints and sexier styles. I love the combination of the two, layering plaid over a loose, blooming crop top. And, no grunge look would be complete without a great pair of combat boots. This time around, though, they shed some military hardness for glamour with polished zippers, buckles, or even crystal-covered spikes.
