Ask Shopbop: Ultimate Suitcase, Thanksgiving Edition

1 Foley + Corinna bag. 2 T by Alexander Wang top. 3 Inhabit vest. 4 Bop Basics scarf. 5 Vince leather dress. 6 Three J NYC pajamas. 7 Raquel Allegra top. 8 Rag & Bone/JEAN jeans. 9 Rag & Bone jacket. 10 HELMUT leggings. 11 Rag & Bone gloves. 12 Theyskens’ Theory booties.

I’m traveling for Thanksgiving, and don’t have a lot of suitcase room. What should I pack?

When it comes to packing for holiday travel, I find it helpful to keep a few strategies in mind. First, focus on things you can mix and match. I try to avoid packing pieces that can only be worn with one outfit and rely on versatile separates—unless your special occasion calls for a dress, of course. Next, remember to pack cozy layers. You just never know when you might end up bunking with a family member that prefers the thermostat set to a balmy 60 degrees. Lastly, go for comfortable favorites. You’ll feel more in the mood for celebrating if you’re not concentrating a too-short hem or constricting waistband. All in all, opt for easy ensembles that show your true colors. Happy holiday and safe travels!

OUTFIT MIX & MATCH:
8 + 12 + 2 + 4 = Cozy Loungewear
8 + 7 + 3 + 12 + 5 = Lunch with Friends
10 + 5 + 12 = Thanksgiving Dinner
5 + 12 + 11 + 1 + 9 = A Night Out
6 + 2 + 3 + 4 = Brunch with the Fam
10 + 7 + 4 + 12 + 9 = Heading Home Again

Whether you’re shopping at the sass & bide flagship, lunching, or catching at show at The Basement, keep your wardrobe simple and your attitude elevated.

Packing List: Getaway to the Greek Isles

The summer travel season is upon us, and in the Shopbop offices, the most important part of the trip planning process is, naturally, the packing. So this month we’re offering tips on what to bring when you jet off to some of the world’s most interesting locales. This week: Greece.

The first step onto one of Greece’s islands in the Mediterranean evokes instant calm. The classic white architecture sloping up rocky hills creates a clean, luxe feel. Whether you’re watching the windmills on Mykonos or lounging on the black sand beaches of Santorini, your wardrobe should be as relaxed as your surroundings.

Peru Packing List: Destination Machu Picchu

The summer travel season is upon us, and in the Shopbop offices, the most important part of the trip planning process is, naturally, the packing. So this month we’re offering tips on what to bring when you jet off to some of the world’s most interesting locales. This week: Cusco, Peru.

A trip to Peru’s Machu Picchu is an unforgettable experience. The first view of the ancient, once-hidden ruins is capable of, quite literally, taking a person’s breath away. But a visit to Machu Picchu is just one part of an Andean adventure. Enjoy the laid-back, mountain feel and the friendly folks of the Sacred Valley with sightseeing, hiking, and (very) frequent alpaca and llama spottings.

Peru is a truly unique and special culture that welcomes its tourists with open arms. What you pack should match its friendly, casual attitude.
