Shopbop Party Girls: Jessica & Jamie

Let’s start by stating the obvious: it’s party season. Weeks of fêtes both casual and fancy, culminating in the party of the year on New Year’s Eve. Our staff, naturally, is not immune to the influx of invites that define December, so we asked them to share their party looks, and while we had their attention, we posed a few holiday-themed questions. Today wraps up our week of holiday style, wish lists, and traditions.

Jessica is wearing a sparkling Sass & Bide dress with Rag & Bone booties, and Jamie is wearing an ALICE by Temperley dress with Aquazzura sandals.

JESSICA, FASHION ASSISTANT

What are your plans for the holidays?
I’m celebrating the holidays in New York and New Jersey with my fiancé and family.

Favorite holiday treat?
I can’t resist peppermint bark and a steaming hot toddy!

The best present you received as a child was...
A jacket. I had begged my parents for it for weeks. Even as a child, I loved clothing!

The best present you received as an adult was...
Does my engagement ring count? If not, a close second was an amazing trip to Cabo.

Item topping your wish list?
I’d love it if a soft Veda jacket was waiting for me under my Christmas tree.

What's on your holiday playlist?
I love all the classics, with a little Michael Bublé, “Last Christmas” by Wham!, and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” thrown into the mix.

Go-to brand for dressing up?
You can’t go wrong in Marchesa Notte or Alice + Olivia.

What is your post-holiday relaxation routine?
A lazy brunch, then just hanging out at home.

What are your plans for the holidays?
I always go home to Georgia for the Holidays and this year is no different. I love being home with my family, friends, and my dogs.

Favorite holiday tradition?
I love helping my mom cook during the holidays. We always have guests at our house for meals, and preparing for the party just as fun as the actual event. We listen to Christmas music, everyone is in and out of the kitchen, the dogs are in the way—it’s a little chaotic, but so much fun.

Favorite holiday treat?
I’m not big on sweets but I LOVE stuffing. Thankfully, it only appears during the holidays, because I always go back for seconds.

The best present you received as a child was...
I remember being most excited about my American Girl doll.

Item topping your wish list?
I have my eye on a 3.1 Phillip Lim Bag…but no pressure.

Go-to shoe brand for dressing up?
Giuseppe Zanotti has great shoes for dressing up. They always have something special to make you really stand out.

What is your post-holiday relaxation routine?
Lying around my house with Teddy and Jasper, my Bernese mountain dog and Doberman.

What are your plans for the holidays?
Heading home to be with family. We host a lasagna dinner at my parents’ house every Christmas.

Favorite holiday tradition?
Drinking coffee and eating pastry around the tree on Christmas morning.

Favorite holiday movie?
Mixed Nuts with Steve Martin. We watch it every year.

The best present you received as a child was...
New skis. I also got a full-body tie-dye dance leotard one year that I thought was pretty awesome.

The best present you received as an adult was...
Our dog Klaus. He has the purest spirit and makes me happy every day.

Item topping your wish list?
My family decided to exchange only handmade or antique/vintage gifts this year. I have no idea what to expect!

Do you have a fail-safe hostess gift?
All year, I collect small pottery vases so I can fill them with holly bouquets for brave holiday hosts.

Go-to brand for dressing up?
I’m not much of a dress-up girl, but when the occasion calls for it, I have good luck with Alexander Wang.

What is your post-holiday relaxation routine?
Watching NBA basketball. It puts me at ease like nothing else!

What are your plans for the holidays?
Family, family, family!

Favorite holiday tradition?
Before Christmas Eve dinner, my family sings “The 12 Days of Christmas.” You have to sing whichever part is on your dinner plate. We are not a family of singers, so it’s pretty bad, but also really funny.

Favorite holiday drink?
Eggnog always gets me in the spirit of the holidays!

The best present you received as a child was...
An Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle! Just kidding only Ralphie from The Christmas Story could ask for that all in one breath! But, Santa did bring me the game Mall Madness one year, which made me cry.

Item topping your wish list?
Isabel Marant Berry Booties or a kitten.

What's on your holiday playlist?
“Silent Night” always pulls at my heart strings.

Do you have a fail-proof hostess gift?
Homemade candle in a vintage tea cup!

Go-to shoe brand for dressing up?
Right now I’m loving all the Aquazzura cutout booties. So sexy!

What is your post-holiday relaxation routine?
I’m planning on hanging out at home with my dog, boyfriend, and, hopefully, my new Christmas kitten!

What are your plans for the holidays?
Headed to my parents for hibernation, hiking, friends, family, and, hopefully, snow!

Favorite holiday tradition?
I love Christmas Eve. My family and I prepare a huge feast, exchange gifts, and head to midnight mass. It feels magical.

Favorite holiday treat?
Hands down, my mom’s homemade fruit cake. Followed only by those treats that look like bacon and eggs: two pretzel sticks topped with melted white chocolate.

The best present you received as an adult was...
Last year I received the most heartfelt, handmade gift—a knitted infinity scarf—from my dear friend and fellow Shopbopper, Rachel.

Item topping your wish list?
I’m in search for a new pair of slouchy, black leather boots, and I’m seriously craving some Rochas.

Go-to brand for dressing up?
Josh Goot styled with a hot pair of Aquazzuras.

ANNA, STYLIST

What are your plans for the holidays?
Going home to Memphis, Tennessee, to spend time with my friends and family.

Favorite holiday treat?
Coming from a southern family, there is no way I can pick just one! But topping the list is my grandmother's Christmas tree butter cookies and my mom's chicken pot pie.

Favorite holiday movie?
The Muppet Christmas Carol. Favorite movie, period.

The best present you received as a child was…
A reindeer! (Well, a stuffed animal along with a letter from Santa explaining why I couldn’t have a real reindeer.)

Maison Martin Margiela glitter oxfords.

What are your plans for the holidays?
I’m heading west to Half Moon Bay, California, to celebrate with my family. My cousins will be coming from Seattle, and my uncle will come out from Colorado. Throw some boyfriends in the mix, and it’s going to be our biggest family Christmas yet. I’m excited to introduce some new people to how we party down on the California Coast. They’d better get ready!

Favorite holiday tradition?
Every Christmas Eve since I was a kid, my dad has read “A Child’s Christmas in Wales,” by Dylan Thomas, to our family after dinner. It’s such a great piece of writing to hear aloud, and I love the way my dad reads it. I look forward to it every year.

The best present you received as a child was...
A wooden puppet theater with interchangeable backdrops and little wooden marionettes. When I found it on Christmas morning it was all set up, with the puppets in a little tableau. My sister and I played with it for years. I think I still have it tucked away somewhere.

What items are topping your wish list this year?
I love big, beautiful coffee table books—I can’t have enough! Shopbop has a couple I’d love to add to my coffee table: Love Looks Not with the Eyes: Thirteen Years with Lee Alexander McQueen and Kate Moss by Mario Testino. Other than those, Santa can put these Jenni Kayne flats in my stocking.

What's on your holiday playlist?
“Father Christmas” by The Kinks
“Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight)” by The Ramones
“Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses
“A Christmas Gift to You” by Phil Spector

Your go-to brand for dressing up is…
A closet and jewelry box full of Kelly Wearstler, and I’d be ready for any party, ever.

Do you have a fail-proof hostess gift?
During the holidays, I like to make little bouquets in pretty jars to bring with me to parties. I don’t think you can go wrong with a fresh flower arrangement.
