The Elizabeth and James Cree Sandal in three colorways.
The promise of winter’s end is in the air. Heck, the last three months could hardly be called a winter in much of the Northern Hemisphere, but nonetheless, there’s been a tickle of spring in the longer days and brighter sun, and with it comes a desire to dress for warmer climes. The most essential piece to a warm-weather wardrobe? The flat sandal. Walkable on city streets, an effortless no-brainer for outdoor music festivals, and a general everyday go-to, a single great pair can take you from the early days of spring right through summer’s high heat.
A few of my favorites include the Elizabeth and James Cree Sandal (pictured); Sam Edelman’s Gigi, an exotic take on colorblock; and perennial favorite K. Jacques sandals (see: every pair). They’d each make a fine addition to a relaxed summer uniform.
