Dressed Down

Ever since the waist-defining dress made its return to the fashion world, I’ve been craving the hourglass silhouette, and with the looming plummet in temperature, my attention has turned toward the sweetest of dress companions: the cardigan. Specifically, I’m a little infatuated with any cardigan that invites a waist-hugging belt.

It’s that very obsession that led me to think casual-cool when this Twelfth St. dress crossed my desk. Sure, with a classic pair of pumps and a cute clutch it’s the cornerstone of the perfect evening-out ensemble, but the subtle print made me want to throw it on with a Vince cardigan and a vintage men’s belt for a more daytime-friendly feel. I’ll add some thick Falke tights and perfectly distressed Golden Goose boots to the mix for one effortless look that I’ll be tempted to wear every weekend come winter.
