Alexandra Spencer launched her blog, 4th and Bleeker, out of boredom, and in a few short years, it morphed into a business with clients like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and J Brand. Known for her sex appeal and deft mix of high and low fashion, Spencer brings a totally unique point of view to the world of personal style blogs. We took a moment to talk with her about fashion and blogging.
SHOPBOP: How would you describe your personal style?
ALEXANDRA SPENCER: Somewhere between a ’90s Calvin Klein ad and an Italian mistress.
SB: You call Sydney, New York, and London home. Does your look change based on where you are?
AS: Absolutely! Sydney is super relaxed, and London is always cold. But I think my favorite city in the world to get dressed in is New York. It’s the only place where anything goes. During the day I can walk around in a pair of skinny jeans and a vintage tee, but then at night I can go out in a pair of stilettos and my favorite little black dress.
SB: You’re known as a model, blogger, and photographer. What other things are you itching to do?
AS: I'd like to go back to designing, which was my original profession before I started modeling and blogging.
SB: If you had to pick one outfit to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be?
AS: Tough question! I'm not sure. But you can count on it being all black.
