The Shopbop offices are winding down for a long weekend. Here, a few staffers share their favorite holiday traditions.
Monica, Online Merchandiser
One of my favorite holiday traditions takes place the Saturday before Christmas with my fiancé’s family. My father and brothers-in-law to-be have a cookie bakeoff while all the ladies head out for mani/pedis and some last-minute shopping. I love coming back to a heaping plate of fresh-baked cookies. Maple snicker doodles took home the title this year!
Jessica, Email Marketing Manager
Making potato latkes! I might even try my hand at homemade apple sauce this year.
Rachel, Customer Service Manager
Spending quality time with my family, eating all the yummy cookies and snacks I can get my hands on, and singing “Silent Night” by candlelight on Christmas Eve. I’m really looking forward to watching my little girl open her presents from Santa this year. She’s almost two, and I think I’m more excited than she is!
Ice fishing as soon as the lakes are solid! There’s nothing more serene than Wisconsin lakes in the winter.
Getting and decorating the tree is my favorite holiday tradition—from the characters at the tree lot to the oohs and aahs of my kids as they rediscover their favorite ornaments each year.
I always get together with my best friends to watch Love Actually and bake brownies!
Olivia, PR Coordinator
My favorite tradition is baking cookies with my mom, especially butter cookies. We’ve made them together since I was little. My favorite part then (and now) was decorating the different shapes with colored sprinkles.
My favorite day of the season and the year is the Saturday before Christmas. My huge extended family (my mom has 12 brothers and sisters!) gets together for good conversation, a little playful ribbing, and lots of amazing food. I leave the day filled with the holiday spirit (and peanut butter balls).
