Juicy Loves Glamour Girls by Erin Fetherston

Early last summer, Juicy Couture announced Erin Fetherston had signed on as creative consultant for the holiday season, and with the proclamation, the web was set abuzz with speculation of what the high-fashion designer would do for the California-casual brand known for its velour tracksuits and girly-girl motif. The results are finally in, and as we suspected, the union is inspired.

“I’ve always admired the Juicy Couture brand, and I relate to their fun-loving sense of irreverent, feminine fashion,” says Fetherston. For the holiday collection, the designer drew inspiration from 1930s and 1970s silhouettes with a nod to today. “I wanted to reference old Hollywood glamour in a modern, California-cool way,” says Fetherston. She did it with Juicy heritage details like drawstrings and velour, creating relaxed styles that are nighttime appropriate. The Juicy velour jacket is re-imagined in a tailored yet plush silhouette, and the beloved track pant is dressed up in pleated silk with rhinestone-tipped waist ties.

“We’re not trying to take Juicy away from being a casual brand,” says Fetherston. “But my vision is to take things out of the box of just sportswear or leisurewear.” Mission accomplished.
