It’s easy to fall into a style rut. Really easy. All too often, I get comfortable and am afraid to try something new. Since joining the Shopbop team, however, I’ve noticed a newfound desire to be bolder—to try new styles and pair items I’d never have thought to pair before. I’m attributing this boldness in part to all of the stylish people that I now see every day, but I also think it just feels good to try something new once in a while.
On that note, I’ve come up with my own new Fashion Manifesto:
- I don’t have to try every new trend, especially if it doesn’t fit my body type.
- But I do need to try something new once a week.
- I will wear what makes me feel confident, even if other people don’t like it.
- I will own whatever it is I’m wearing. My style will be “me.”
I think that last point is key: I will own my style. Because it is mine—I get to decide. That’s something I’ve learned in my first few weeks here at Shopbop. If you own it and it’s you, it’ll look amazing.
