NYFW F/W 2011: 4 Emerging Trends

There are only a few more shows left on the New York Fashion Week calendar, and we’re starting to see a few trends emerging. Some standouts so far:

ADAM by Adam Lippes, left. Band of Outsiders, right.

Dramatic cloaks in pretty, light colors. Spotted at Alexander Wang, ADAM by Adam Lippes, and Band of Outsiders.

Glittery pants. Alexander Wang made a statement, sending three looks in a row with shimmering pants—pink then blue then silver—all paired with black fur coats. Love the funky attitude this look portrays.

Patterned wide legs. The wide-leg pant is here to stay this season, updated with prints and patterns. Spotted at EDUN, Derek Lam, SUNO, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Tory Burch.

Preen, left. Jenni Kayne, right.

Slit-front skirts. This sexy update to the maxi skirt was seen at Jenni Kayne and Preen. (Both of these looks will be available on Shopbop this fall!)
