Our Favorites from What's New
I feel accomplished as a fashion editor when I spot new arrivals and instantly know the designer without even a peek at the tag. Some brands have their signature aesthetic (Free People’s nomadic boho, Tibi’s Caribbean getaways), and some have particular pieces they do fresh interpretations of every season—pieces I’ve come to think of as a new generation of closet classics.

Plaid, borrowed-from-a-boy button-down shirt with a sexy silhouette to show off a girl’s curves? It’s Elizabeth and James, of course. I love the prep-school vixen look of this shirt paired with black skinnies and platform pumps. Elizabeth and James – School Boy Shirt II

I’m sure I’ve personally helped this Seven jeans silhouette achieve top-seller status: I own five pairs! The fit is among the best in the biz, and I vary my look by occasionally cuffing the hem to show off a chunky heel. Seven For All Mankind – High Waist Boot Cut Jeans

You can’t be a rustic badass without a perfectly distressed pair of Frye boots. This is the pair you wear when you want to come back with stories to tell. (Or at least want to look like you do.) Demolished jeans are an obvious companion, but I like the balance of a rough-hewn boot with a delicate summer frock. Frye – Carmen Harness Tall Boots
