Nobody knows their blue jeans (and their pink jeans and their printed camo jeans...) better than American girls. So when I found out denim empress Paige Adams-Geller is a former Miss California, I thought, "Omigosh, I should have guessed."
Here's Paige talking about style, Twizzlers, and a One Direction boy band battle:
FARAN KRENTCIL: Some girls grow up saying they want to be princesses. Did you grow up saying you wanted to be a denim designer?
PAIGE ADAMS-GELLER: I grew up wanting to run a cosmetic empire or be a plastic surgeon for those with physical impairments. In essence, I knew I wanted to make people feel good about themselves. When I found my calling in the denim industry, I took that same concept and turned it into pieces sure to make anyone feel sexy.
FK: Describe the first time you had an emotional reaction to denim.
PAG: I fell in love with denim in the '80s, so much so that ankle-zipped denim and grey striped pieces have been carried over to my collections today.
FK: What's the secret to buying new jeans online? Some girls are still scared to do it!
PAG: The secret to buying jeans online is to have confidence. Girls need to be bold and take chances with new prints and washes.
FK: If Paige wardrobed one TV character exclusively, who would it be?
PAG: I would love to dress Emily VanCamp's character, Emily Thorne, from Revenge. She is strong, passionate, and sexy.
FK: If One Direction and The Monkees got into a street fight, who would win?
PAG: I would have to go with One Direction, strictly on their amazing fashion sense! I would love to see one of those boys in our new Federal and Huntley fits.
FK: Please describe your personal style in one sentence. This sentence must include the word "Twizzler."
PAG: My personal style is feminine sexy with a mysterious Twizzler edge.
