Shopbop On Location: What to Pack

Fashion Director Kate Ciepluch on location in Mexico. Kate’s wearing a Rag & Bone/JEAN knit dress.

I’m on location in Mexico with Shopbop’s photographers and stylists, shooting two of our spring trends stories (can’t wait for you guys to see them!). We have a week of work, mixed with some fun in the sun. Here’s what I packed:

Lightweight Knits
Light jersey knits that can be layered are so packable (they don’t wrinkle!), and great for unpredicatable temps. A knit skirt, Missoni pants, and a cropped Haute Hippie top all made it into my suitcase.

White Pants
A warm destination demands a great pair of white pants (mine are white J Brand skinny jeans). They’re so easy with a bikini top, flat sandals, and a beach tote.

I love to change a million times throughout the day on vacation, so I tossed a few bikinis in my suitcase. They’re tiny, so you can bring a lot. Check out Cali Dreaming swimwear and L*Space swimwear—amazing fit!

The best match for great swimwear is an equally amazing cover-up. I’m loving lacy cover-ups (like this one from Milly swimwear), and oversized chambray button-downs.

K. Jacques sandals and Havaianas flip-flops are musts in beachy locations. I’m on my feet all day at the shoots, so flats are key.
