With as much time as our staffers spend living and breathing fashion, it shouldn’t be surprising that favorite brands start to rise to the top of our individual must-have lists. In this feature, we’re talking about those favorite designers and how they fit into our personal style. This month: Jennifer, who loves Vince.

Why you love the brand in 6 words or less.
Simple, classic, great-made basics.
What’s your favorite piece from the brand right now?
The Celeste d'Orsay Pumps. They are the perfect go-with-everything shoe. Wear them with a dress or jeans and a blouse. They put a feminine touch on any outfit.
How would you describe your personal style?
I’m classic feminine with a bit of prep. I went to college in the South, so that shaped my style a ton. I learned to never leave the house without fixing your hair and putting on mascara, and that it’s always better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. In my wardrobe, I try to invest in great basics that I can change up each season with new, trendy accessories.
Do you have a style icon?
Olivia Palermo. She does a great job of mixing trends with classic pieces. You can look at a photo of her from five years ago, and the outfit always feels relevant and pulled-together. I also seriously want her shoe collection!
If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what pieces would it consist of?
That is tough, but probably a dark pair of skinny jeans, a great silk blouse, some classic pumps, diamond stud earrings, a watch, dainty stacking rings, aviator sunglasses, and because I live in Wisconsin, a tailored wool coat.
What is your earliest fashion-related memory?
When I was little, if I was home sick from school, I always got to watch The Sound of Music in my parents’ bed. I remember watching the scene where Liesl sings “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” in that pink party dress and thinking that it was that most beautiful dress ever.
