As a kid I couldn’t decide whether Halloween or Christmas was my favorite holiday. They both had candy, but one had costumes while the other had presents. Now that I am (mostly) grown up, Thanksgiving is the clear winner. I love going home and stuffing myself silly. Plus, I’m an adult now, which means I can dress up or give gifts whenever I want.
At our house, Thanksgiving is a semiformal affair. Sure, after the pumpkin pie has been served we’re all in our sweatpants and slippers, but until then it’s strictly sweaters and oxfords. Though my girlfriend joked about getting a pair of J Brand maternity jeans, she’s planning on wearing her new cropped Vince sweater, and I’m surprising her with a cape coat from See by Chloé. Not because I’m nice, but to butter her up for when she does her online gift shopping on Cyber Monday.
